ThreatLocker, a cybersecurity software company specializing in protecting organizations against modern cyber threats, partnered with Visionaery Productions to create a professional customer success story featuring Niles Community Schools in Michigan.
As cybersecurity becomes increasingly important for educational institutions, ThreatLocker wanted to showcase how its solutions help IT professionals protect their networks, manage security risks, and maintain reliable technology environments. Rather than relying solely on technical explanations, the goal was to communicate the value of its cybersecurity platform through the firsthand experiences of a real customer.
Our technology video production focused on capturing the perspectives of Niles Community Schools' IT team, highlighting their experience working with ThreatLocker and the importance of dependable cybersecurity in education. The project was designed to create an authentic, relatable story that would resonate with IT decision-makers and organizations evaluating their own cybersecurity needs.
CYBERSECURITY VIDEO PRODUCTION CHALLENGE
As a Florida-based cybersecurity company, ThreatLocker needed a reliable video production team in Michigan to capture a customer success story at Niles Community Schools. They needed a local partner capable of managing the production independently while delivering professional content that aligned with their marketing goals.
The challenge was translating complex cybersecurity solutions into an engaging, relatable story. Through authentic customer interviews, we needed to demonstrate ThreatLocker's real-world value while keeping the message accessible to IT professionals and business decision-makers.
Filming inside an active school district also required careful coordination. Our crew needed to capture interviews and footage of IT operations while respecting student privacy, minimizing disruptions, and working efficiently within the school's schedule.
THE VISIONAERY APPROACH
Our three-person production crew traveled to Niles Community Schools to capture an authentic customer success story highlighting the district's experience with ThreatLocker. We conducted interviews with Jim Tyler, Director of Technology, and Robert Schuster, Senior IT Technician, using a professional multi-camera setup in the school's library.
To complement the interviews, we captured cinematic B-roll throughout the school, including IT operations, server room footage, and interactions between technology staff and teachers. We also incorporated aerial drone footage to establish the campus and provide additional visual context.
In post-production, we brought the interviews and supporting footage together into a cohesive narrative, incorporating professional color grading, audio mixing, and subtle motion graphics. The result was a polished cybersecurity testimonial that allowed real IT professionals to communicate ThreatLocker's value through their firsthand experiences.
FINAL VIDEO DELIVERY
The final deliverable was a professionally produced cybersecurity customer testimonial video featuring Niles Community Schools' experience with ThreatLocker. Combining authentic interviews, cinematic footage of the school's IT operations, and subtle motion graphics, the video showcased the real-world value of ThreatLocker's cybersecurity solutions.
In addition to the finished video, ThreatLocker requested the original RAW footage to support future content creation by its internal marketing team. We organized and transferred the production footage onto a dedicated hard drive, which was shipped directly to ThreatLocker for an additional fee.
This approach gave ThreatLocker both a polished customer success story ready for its marketing and sales efforts and the flexibility to repurpose the footage into additional video assets as needed.

The finished customer success story gave ThreatLocker fresh, professional video content to share across its website, YouTube channel, and social media platforms, expanding its library of marketing assets and providing valuable content to engage prospective customers.

Protecting an entire school district presents unique challenges, from managing numerous devices and users to safeguarding sensitive information. By highlighting Niles Community Schools' firsthand experience, ThreatLocker was able to showcase the practical value of its technology in a demanding IT environment.
The result was a credible customer testimonial that reinforced ThreatLocker's expertise while giving potential clients a tangible example of its cybersecurity solutions in action.
BEHIND THE TECH VIDEO PRODUCTION
Our three-person production crew traveled from Grand Rapids to Niles Community Schools for a full day of filming. Without a prior location scout, we evaluated several spaces upon arrival. Although we initially considered the school's student podcast studio, we ultimately chose the library for its greater depth and more cinematic interview setting.
Jim Tyler, the district's Director of Technology and an enthusiastic advocate for ThreatLocker, played a key role in coordinating the production. His involvement helped us navigate the school, access important filming locations, and capture an authentic look at the district's IT operations.
Filming inside an active school required extra attention to student privacy. We carefully framed our shots and coordinated around daily activities to avoid capturing students on camera. Between interviews, supporting B-roll, and aerial footage, we completed a full 10-hour production day, plus travel to and from Niles.
The project demonstrated how an experienced crew can adapt to unfamiliar locations while maintaining an efficient production schedule and delivering professional results.
